MotherBoard

The first time I powered on the system It would power up for a moment, beep 4 times, and then power down.  I did research and trouble shooting for several days but could not get it to POST. My next door neighbor owns a Nerds to Go franchise. I enlisted his help and his technicians confirmed what I suspected...the motherboard had been damaged.  They also said that they could smell burnt electronics 

This came as no big surprise since over the years I had had the mother board in and out multiple times (sometimes even when I was "nipping" and drilling) so I figured I had at some point gotten some metal slivers across the components and shorted something out.

The technicians were able to find an identical mother board online to replace it. When they removed the original board they found a spot on one of the SATA cables (that I had originally routed beneath the mother board) that had a burnt spot.  The cable had evidently been pinched or punctured and the 12V line had shorted to the tray
